University of Guelph Robotics Team

In 2023, I came to the University of Guelph looking to work with the Engineering Robotics Team. After joining the University of Guelph Robotics Team, I began to explore different specialties and groups they had in the Electrical Sub-Team. I started off as part of the Firmware team because the work they were doing was something I was interested in exploring. My work as part of that team started with analyzing and deconstructing the old rover, looking at how the different subsystems were connected and what their power delivery looked like. Unfortunately, the club president made the difficult decision to continue working on the rover without the goal of competition.

In 2024, I shifted teams to focus on the organization of the rover. I enjoyed my work on the Firmware Sub-Team and so I followed the group as it's scope transitioned to the General Electrical Sub-Team. Because of my experience with FIRST Robotics in high school, I lead point on this project and have been coordinating with the Sub-Team leads and with much of the rest of the team to coordinate electrical components, manage mounting solutions for wires and equipment, and communicate with the financial team to coordinate purchasing. As we prepare for competition in the summer, I will be working hard to manage the stages of assembly, adding mounting points for cable management, and assembling the electrical components of the rover.
